Alia Bhatt and Hrithik Roshan amongst new members invited by The Academy June 30, 2020 at 06:07PM

The Academy of Motion Picture Arts and Sciences is extending invitations to join the organization to 819 artists and executives who have distinguished themselves by their contributions to theatrical motion pictures. Every year, a bunch of Indian celebrities are invited to become new members.

Amongst the actors, Alia Bhatt and Hrithik Roshan have been sent invitations. The Academy has recognized Alia's stupendous work in films like Gully Boy and Raazi. Hrithik Roshan has been recognized for his work in Jodha Akbar and Super 30.

Academy Award-winning film Parasite actors Park So-Dam, Choi Woo-Shik, Lee Jung-Eun, Jo Yeo-Jeong, Jang Hye-Jin are also amongst the new members.

Florence Pugh, Zendaya, Awkwafina, Zazie Beets, Eva Longoria, Constance Wu, John David Washington are few of the names amongst the Hollywood celebrities.

Casting Director Nandini Shrikent who did casting for Life Of Pi and Gully Boy, Costume Designer Neeta Lulla, Documentary directors Nishtha Jain (Gulabi Gang, Lakshmi and Me), Amit Madheshiya (The Hour of Lynching, The Cinema Travellers), Producer Priya Swaminathan, Music producer Nainita Desai (The Reason I Jump, For Sama), VFX supervisor Vishal Anand (Bharat, War) are some of the new Indian members at The Academy.

The 2020 class is 45% women, 36% underrepresented ethnic/racial communities, and 49% international from 68 countries. There are 75 Oscar® nominees, including 15 winners, and five recipients of Scientific and Technical Awards. Those who accept the invitations will be the only additions to the Academy’s membership in 2020.

“The Academy is delighted to welcome these distinguished fellow travelers in the motion picture arts and sciences. We have always embraced extraordinary talent that reflects the rich variety of our global film community, and never more so than now,” said Academy President David Rubin in a statement.

The Academy Awards 2021 will take place on April 25, 2021.

दरअसल, मंगलवार को दो बड़ी फिल्मों रोहित शेट्टी के निर्देशन में बनी अक्षय कुमार स्टारर 'सूर्यवंशी' और कबीर खान निर्देशित रणवीर सिंह स्टारर '83' की रिलीज डेट का ऐलान हुआ। दोनों फिल्में क्रमशः दिवाली और क्रिसमस पर सिनेमाघरों में आएंगी। दैनिक भास्कर ने इसे लेकर कार्निवल, पीवीआर और आइनॉक्स मल्टीप्लेक्स चैन से रिएक्शन मांगा था।

रिलीज डेट के ऐलान का आइडिया धर्मा और रिलायंस का

कार्निवल और पीवीआर के अधिकारियों ने बताया कि दोनों फिल्मों की रिलीज डेट अनाउंस करने के पीछे का आइडिया धर्मा प्रोडक्शन और रिलायंस एंटरटेनमेंट का था। उन्होंने कहा, "धर्मा और रिलायंस क्रमशः इन दोनों फिल्मों के डिस्ट्रीब्यूटर और प्रोड्यूसर हैं। दोनों ने दो दिन पहले मल्टीप्लेक्स के मालिकों को इस आइडिया को आगे बढ़ाने के लिए कहा था।" रिलायंस एंटरटेनमेंट के सीईओ शिवाशीष सरकार ने भी इस बात की पुष्टि की है।

आइनॉक्स ने समझाया घाटे का गणित

आइनॉक्स मूवीज के अधिकारियों ने पिछले तीन महीनों से सिंगल स्क्रीन और मल्टीप्लेक्स बंद होने के कारण हुए घाटे का आंकड़ा बताया। मल्टीप्लेक्स चैन के प्रमोटर सिद्धार्थ जैन के कहा- सभी सिंगल स्क्रीन और मल्टीप्लेक्स वालों को टिकट्स से हर महीने करीब 1000 करोड़ रुपए की आय होती है। 500 करोड़ फूड और बेवरेज से आ जाते हैं। इस तरह पूरी इंडस्ट्री को देखा जाए तो इन तीन महीनों में लगभग 4500 करोड़ रुपए का नुकसान हो चुका है। लेकिन उम्मीद करते हैं कि आगे ऐसा न हो।

दरअसल, अनलॉक फेज 2 की घोषणा हुई है। इसके बाद यह स्पष्ट हो गया है कि अगस्त में सिनेमाघर खुलने शुरू हो जाएंगे। दिवाली और क्रिसमस तक सभी सिनेमा हॉल्स फुल स्ट्रेंथ के साथ खुलने लगेंगे।

अगर अगस्त में सिनेमाघर खुलते हैं तो हिंदी की बजाय हॉलीवुड की बड़ी फिल्में रिलीज होंगी। इनमें क्रिस्टोफर नोलन की 'टेनेंट' और डिज्नी वालों की 'मुलान' शामिल हैं। मुलान की रिलीज डेट 12 अगस्त है, यह ऐलान हो चुका है। यह बड़े बजट की फिल्म है। इन दो बड़ी फिल्मों से उन्हें बहुत बड़ा पिकअप मिलेगा।

सभी मूवीज ओटीटी पर नहीं गई हैं

वे आगे कहते हैं- अभी भी सभीमूवीज ओटीटी पर नहीं गई हैं। उनके प्रोड्यूसर्स अगस्त-सितंबर से रिलीज शुरू करते हैं तो अक्टूबर नवंबर से सिनेमाघरों के लिए फिल्मों की आमद अच्छी रहेगी। थोड़ा बहुत पैटर्न फिजी और ऑस्ट्रेलिया वाला भी रहेगा। वहां जैसे 'गोलमाल अगेन' और 'सिम्बा' फिर से रिलीज हुई हैं, ठीक उसी तरह यहां 'बागी 3' फिर से रिलीज हो सकती है। क्योंकि उसने सिनेमाघरों में पूरा समय नहीं ले सकी थी।

'अंग्रेजी मीडियम' फिर से रिलीज नहीं हो पाएगी, क्योंकि वह हॉटस्टार पर चली गई थी। जाने को 'बागी 3' भी हॉटस्टार पर आ चुकी है, लेकिन सिनेमाघरों और डिजिटल प्लेटफॉर्म के बीच रिलीज के 8 हफ्तों का जो गैप होता है, वह उसने पूरा किया था। जबकि अंग्रेजी मीडियम का गैप पूरा नहीं हुआ था। क्योंकि वह सिनेमाघर में रिलीज होने के महज 2 हफ्तों में ही डिजिटल प्लेटफॉर्म पर आ गई थी। मगर 'बागी 3' ने ऐसा नहीं किया था।

अगस्त से दिसंबर के बीच सिनेमाघरों के लिए कई फिल्में और हैं। उनमें यशराज के बैनर की अर्जुन कपूर-परिणीति चोपड़ा स्टारर 'संदीप पिंकी फरार' है। राजकुमार राव और नुसरत भरुचा स्टारर 'छलांग' ओटीटी पर नहीं गई है। मनोज बाजपेयी की 'सूरज पर मंगल भारी' भी तमाम अफवाहों के बीच डिजिटल प्लेटफॉर्म पर नहीं गई है।

जॉन अब्राहम स्टारर 'मुंबई सागा' की बस 5-10 दिनों की शूटिंग बाकी है। उसका पोस्ट प्रोडक्शन भी बहुत हद तक संजय गुप्ता कर चुके हैं । ऐसे में वह भी सिनेमाघरों की रिलीज के लिए तैयार है। रणबीर कपूर की 'शेरशाह' और परिणीति चोपड़ा की 'द गर्ल ऑन द ट्रेन' भी सिनेमाघरों के लिए उपलब्ध हो सकती हैं।

सलमान खान की 'राधे' भी अभी कहीं जाने को बाकी है। 'लाल सिंह चड्ढा' जनवरी रिपब्लिक डे पर पुश होती नजर आ रही है। ऐसे में इस साल अगस्त के बाद से सिनेमाघरों में रौनक लौट सकती है।

If his first film succeeds at the box office, he would be paid Rs. 60 lakhs for his second and Rs. 1 crore for the third film.

He was paid Rs. 1 crore for Detective Byomkesh Bakshy! The second film in question is Paani with Shekhar Kapur that got shelved. The reason was reported that there were creative differences between Aditya Chopra and Shekhar Kapur.

Yesterday, in an unprecedented development, as many as 7 mid-sized and big films were announced to be released straightaway on one of the biggest OTT platforms, Disney+ Hotstar. These films were Akshay Kumar’s horror comedy Laxmmi Bomb, Ajay Devgn’s war saga Bhuj – The Pride Of India, Sushant Singh Rajput’s last film Dil Bechara, Mahesh Bhatt’s directorial comeback Sadak 2, Abhishek Bachchan’s stock market drama The Big Bull, Kunal Kemmu’s comic caper Lootcase and Vidyut Jammwal’s action love story Khuda Hafiz. It led to a lot of anger among the exhibitors and multiplex owners since theatres have been shut since more than 3 months and are expected to not resume operations for another one month at least. They have been bleeding and they fear that these 7 films skipping theatrical release will hurt them and also set a dangerous precedent.

However, today, there has been another development that will bring cheer not only to exhibitors but also to film buffs. 2 of the most awaited films of the year, Sooryavanshi and ’83, which got postponed because of the Coronavirus-induced lockdown, have announced their new release dates. While Sooryavanshi will release during Diwali, on November 13, ’83 will arrive on Christmas Day, that is, December 25!

When contacted, Reliance Entertainment Group CEO Shibashish Sarkar exclusively told Bollywood Hungama, “Yes, both Sooryavanshi and ’83 are confirmed for Diwali and Christmas respectively”. He also added, “We are committed to bring both Sooryavanshi and ’83 in theatres whenever the exhibitors are open and whenever the audiences feel safe and comfortable to come back to cinemas. We feel and we hope that by Diwali and Christmas, the situation will be normal.” This is the first time that that the release date of Hindi films has been declared post the lockdown.

Sooryavanshi stars Akshay Kumar, Katrina Kaif, Sikandar Kher, Gulshan Grover and others and is directed by Rohit Shetty. It is a part of the cop universe, comprising of Singham (essayed by Ajay Devgn) and Simmba (essayed by Ranveer Singh). Both these actors also have special appearances in the film as well. This actioner was to release on March 27 but was then postponed due to the Coronavirus scare. ’83, meanwhile, is directed by Kabir Khan, and was to release on April 10. It is based on the 1983 Cricket World Cup and focuses on how the underdog Indian Cricket Team emerged triumphant against West Indies, then the most powerful team in the world. It stars Ranveer Singh, Deepika Padukone, Tahir Raj Bhasin, Saqib Saleem, Ammy Virk, Pankaj Tripathi, Boman Irani and many others.

सुशांत सिंह राजपूत की मौत के सदमे से फिल्म इंडस्ट्री उबर नहीं पा रही है। 14 जून को सुशांत ने अपने मुंबई स्थित घर में फांसी लगाकर आत्महत्या कर ली थी जिसके बाद 15 जून को मुंबई में उनका अंतिम संस्कार किया गया था। इस अंतिम संस्कार में गिने-चुने लोग ही पहुंच पाए थे लेकिन अब कुछ सेलेब्स एक-एक करके सुशांत के घर पहुंचकर उनके परिवार को सांत्वना देने जुट रहे हैं। हाल ही में नाना पाटेकर सुशांत के पिता से मिलने पहुंचे थे और अब टीवी एक्ट्रेस रतन राजपूत भी सुशांत के पिता से मिलने उनके घर पहुंचीं।

रतन ने शेयर किया मुलाकात का अनुभव: रतन ने इंस्टाग्राम पर एक वीडियो जारी कर सुशांत के पिता से मुलाकात का अनुभव शेयर किया। उन्होंने कहा, 'मैं सुशांत के निधन की खबर सुनकर बहुत डिस्टर्ब थी और बात नहीं करना चाहती थी। लेकिन हाल ही में मैं उनके पिता और परिवार से मिली। मैं थोड़ी घबराई हुई थी कि मैं उनसे मिलकर क्या कहूंगी, मैं बहुत नर्वस थी लेकिन जब मैं उनके परिवार से निकली तो सबकुछ बहुत अलग ही रहा।'

रतन ने आगे कहा, 'मेरी नर्वसनेस गायब हो गई और सुशांत के पिता से मिलकर मुझे शक्ति मिल गई। ऐसी स्थिति में जब कोई अपने जवान बेटे को खो दे तो वो इंसान क्या बात करेगा। लेकिन सुशांत के पिता बिलकुल अलग ही इंसान हैं। वह स्टेबल और शांत हैं। वह ज्यादा कुछ नहीं कहते लेकिन खामोश रहकर भी काफी कुछ कह जाते हैं। उनकी एनर्जी बिलकुल अलग है। मैं सुशांत की बड़ी बहन से भी मिली। उनसे मिलकर मुझे शक्ति मिली। मुझे ये समझ आया कि इतने बड़े झटके के बाद भी ज़िंदगी कैसे चलती रहती है और आप आगे कैसे बढ़ सकते हो। इस मुलाकात के बाद मेरे अंदर कुछ अलग ही ऊर्जा है। मैं अब अपनी नॉर्मल लाइफ में बहुत सुकून महसूस कर रही हूं।'
