Kriti Sanon is all set to embrace motherhood on the silver screen with her next film ‘Mimi’. The actress essays the role of a surrogate mother and had gained 15 kilos to effectively portray her character. Speaking about playing a mother in ‘Mimi’, Kriti told Mumbai Mirror, “I play a young girl who aspires to become a Bollywood actress Yes, Mimi has dreams of her own and there is a reason why she agrees to become a surrogate. The Covid-19 lockdown has created a havoc for various industries, and the Indian film industry is one among them. With the pandemic not seeming to abate, filmmakers are faced with hard decisions regarding the fate of their films. After a few announcements of films being released directly on OTT platforms, we now hear that streaming giant Amazon Prime has acquired the rights of the Abhishek Bachchan and Rajkummar Rao starrer Ludo and the Amitabh Bachchan starrer Jhund.
Confirming the same, a source says, “Yes, Amazon has acquired rights of both films, which will now release directly on the streaming service.” Ask for details about what made the makers of Ludo and Jhund take this decision, the source continues, “Both films are T-Series productions and given the extended lock down period, the makers felt it was better to release Ludo and Jhund on the streaming service rather than wait for a theatrical release, which will take a long time.”
Further explaining filmmakers predicament these days, our source continues, “Today filmmakers are faced with a hard choice. Given the capital invested in a venture, it is their responsibility to recover as much as they can. But with theatres being shut, a major chunk of revenue has been axed. Given this situation, filmmakers are forced to search for different avenues to recover costs, and one way is with a direct release on OTT.”
While it certainly is interesting time for streaming services, an official announcement of Ludo and Jhund releasing directly on Amazon is awaited.

महानायक अमिताभ बच्चन ने 'मदर्स डे' पर खास अंदाज में अपनी मां तेजी बच्चन को याद किया। रविवार की रात उन्होंने सोशल मीडिया पर एक वीडियो शेयर किया, जिसमें उन्होंने एक गीत 'मेरी रोटी की गोलाई मां' के माध्यम से मां से जुड़ी अपनी भावनाएं बताईं। इस वीडियो को बच्चन परिवार की पुरानी तस्वीरों को मिलाकर बनाया गया। जिनमें से अधिकतर में तेजी बच्चन नजर आ रही हैं।
इस गीत को खुद अमिताभ ने अपनी आवाज में गाया है। वहीं इसके लेखक पुनीत शर्मा और संगीतकार अनुज गर्ग हैं। इसके विजुअल्स अमिताभ बच्चन के निजी संग्रह और बिनानी सीमेंट के साल 2013 में बनाए गए विज्ञापन 'पैरेंटल लव' से लिए गए हैं। इसके ओरिजनल वर्जन का डायरेक्शन शूजित सरकार और उनकी टीम ने किया था, वही रीक्रिएट ईएफ बुशरा ने किया है।

अमिताभ बच्चन की मां का नाम तेजी बच्चन का असली नाम तेजवंत कौर था। उनका जन्म 12 अगस्त 1914 को तत्कालीन पंजाब के लयालपुर शहर में (अब पाकिस्तान में) हुआ था। वे सामाजिक कार्यकर्ता और मनोविज्ञान की प्रोफेसर थीं। शादी से पहले तक वे लाहौर के खूबचंद डिग्री कॉलेज में पढ़ाती थीं। 1941 में उनकी शादी हरिवंश राय बच्चन से हुई थी। उनके दो बेटे हैं, अमिताभ और अजिताभ। 21 दिसंबर 2007 को 93 वर्ष की आयु में उनका निधन हो गया था।
