The Emmy Awards ceremony will now be held on January 15th, airing on Martin Luther King Jr day, due to ongoing strikes by film and television actors and writers. The Emmys will beat the Screen Actors Guild Awards, honouring film and television audiences, to the punch, since it will take place earlier than the latter. This move shows how broadcast television is no longer dominant as it was in the past where the Emmys used to air in September routinely. The awards will be executive produced by Jesse Collins, Dionne Harmon and Jeannae Rouzan-Clay of Jesse Collins Entertainment.
