Every set, no matter how lavish and elaborate, comes with an expiry date. So it is with a heavy heart that we must report that the fabulous set built by Sanjay Leela Bhansali at Film City for Alia Bhatt starrer Gangubai Kathiawadi would soon have to be dismantled.
Sources say, “Bhansali and his leading lady Alia Bhatt were hoping (against hope) that the current coronavirus crisis would blow over after some time. But as weeks of a lockdown seem to be turning into months, the fear that Bollywood filmmakers won’t be able to shoot until 2021 is driving one of the world’s most active entertainment industries into a bundle of nerves.”
Says a source in the know, “Bhansali’s set is one of the biggest most detailed and expensive set ever created for a film. He was hoping to return to it after the lockdown. But soon the monsoon will set in. Before that, the set would have to be taken down.”
With no certainty of when the shooting would resume. Sad.

लॉकडाउन के चलते फिल्म इंडस्ट्री का काम बुरी तरह प्रभावित है। नई फिल्मों की शूटिंग शुरू नहीं हो पा रही है। जिन फिल्मों का अगला शेड्यूल शुरू होने वाला था, उस पर भी ग्रहण लग गया है। मसलन, अजय देवगन अपनी फिल्म 'मैदान' का अहम शेड्यूल मार्च-अप्रैल में शुरू करने वाले थे। लेकिन पिछले एक महीने से चल रहे लॉकडाउन की वजह से यह शुरू नहीं हो पाया और इसके लिए बनाया गया सेट धूल खा रहा है।
9 एकड़ में फैला है सेट
फिल्म के लिए पिछले 8 महीनों से विशालकाय स्टेडियम का सेट बनाया जा रहा था, जो 9 एकड़ में फैला हुआ है। स्टेडियम के इस सेट में ओलिम्पिक सीक्वेंसेस को फिल्माया जाना था। कहा जा रहा है कि इस सेट पर 7 करोड़ रुपए का खर्च आया है। इन सब बातों की ताईद खुद फिल्म के डायरेक्टर अमित शर्मा ने की है।
अमित बोले- सेट पर पहुंच चुके थे एक्टर्स
दैनिक भास्कर से खास बातचीत में शर्मा ने कहा, "फिल्म के सेट पर कितना खर्च हुआ था, वह तो मैं नहीं बता सकता। क्योंकि मैं प्रोड्यूसर नहीं हूं। लेकिन हां इतना जरूर कह सकता हूं कि सेट खड़ा है। ग्राउंड बनकर तैयार है। भारी भरकम इन्वेस्टमेंट इस सेट पर हुआ था। लेकिन अभी कुछ कर नहीं सकते। कोई इंसान वहां नहीं जा सकता। यह ग्राउंड पिछले छह-सात महीनों से बन रहा था। हम असल स्टेडियम के ग्राउंड बनाने वाले क्यूरेटर्स को लेकर आए थे। नॉर्मल माली तो इसे नहीं बना सकता है न। हमने डी.वाई. पाटिल और वानखेड़े स्टेडियम के क्यूरेटर्स को बुलाया और उनसे ग्राउंड बनवाया था। हमने ओलिम्पिक साइज स्टेडियम और रनिंग ट्रैक बनवाएं हैं। यह सब 9 एकड़ में फैला है।"
'30-35 दिन की शूटिंग होनी तय थी'
अमित आगे कहते हैं, "अगर यह लॉकडाउन और कोरोना का कहर नहीं आया होता तो यहां तकरीबन 30 से 35 दिनों की शूटिंग होनी तय थी। फुटबॉल में जितने भी सीक्वेंसेस होते हैं, उन सब की शूटिंग यहां पर होनी थी। जो कलाकार बाहर की टीम का प्रतिनिधित्व करने वाले थे, वे सभी यहां आ चुके थे। पर उन सब को वापस भेजना पड़ा। वे प्लेयर्स ऑस्ट्रेलिया, फिनलैंड, फ्रांस, यूगोस्लाविया समेत कुछ और यूरोपीय देशों से थे। वैसा करना जरूरी था। क्योंकि फिल्म में ओलिम्पिक के अहम सीक्वेंस हैं और उसमें हमें प्रोफेशनल खिलाड़ियों को ही दिखाना था, वरना ओलिम्पिक की गरिमा को ठेस पहुंचती।"
'वीएफएक्स से तैयार की जाती हजारों की भीड़'
बकौल अमित, "हमने स्टेडियम के स्टैंड्स भी बना लिए थे। उसमें हम लोगों की भीड़ दिखाने थे। असल में हम 400 लोगों के क्राउड के साथ शूट करने और वीएफएक्स में उसे फिर हजारों में कन्वर्ट करने वाले थे। हमारी पूरी यूनिट बाहर से आई थी। स्पेशल कोरियोग्राफर आए थे, जो रनिंग ट्रैक पर दौड़ने वाले प्लेयर्स को शूट करते। उसमें एक अलग तरह की तकनीक इस्तेमाल होती है। ऑस्ट्रेलियन कैमरा पर्सन क्रीस रीड को खास हायर किया गया है, जो स्पोर्ट्स के मूव्स को कैप्चर करेंगे।"
11 दिसंबर को रिलीज होगी फिल्म
फिल्म में अजय देवगन फुटबॉल कोच सैयद अब्दुल रहमान की भूमिका में दिखाई देंगे, जिनकी लीडरशिप में भारतीय फुटबॉल टीम ने 1951 और 1962 में एशियन गेम्स जीते थे। इसका ऐलान 2018 में किया गया था। अमित रविंद्रनाथ शर्मा के निर्देशन में बन रही यह फिल्म 11 दिसंबर 2020 को रिलीज होगी।

Sussanne Khan's sister Farah Khan Ali has revealed that she has tested negative for COVID-19. Her bungalow was sealed earlier this week after her in-house was diagnosed with Coronavirus. She has informed that she will be in quarantine till April 29, 2020.
"You know what was the best feeling more than testing negative for Covid? It was the relieved faces of my children and in-house staff who live with me since more than 10 years. That was priceless . Happiness is contagious ????????????," she wrote on Twitter.
"Will be quarantined until 29th April 2020 even though I tested negative. Be safe. Be home, This too shall pass ????," Farah further wrote on Thursday.
Farah Khan Ali further said that may god protect everyone amid this crisis. "God is great ???? May the ones who have this virus heal soon and recover. May the ones who go to work everyday trying to save the ones who have the virus be protected. May GOD HEAL OUR PLANET. ????????????," she wrote in another tweet.
