Hina Khan and Kushal Tandon are all set to collaborate for an upcoming horror film! January 19, 2020 at 07:27PM

Hina Khan, Kushal Tandon, Aditi Arya and Rishabh Sinha are all set to star in Zee5’s upcoming horror film.  Directed by Debatma Mandal and produced by Krasnaya Corporation LLP and Horse Films LLP, the film is currently under production and scheduled for a March 2020 release.

The untitled tech horror film is a love triangle between Suhani (Hina Khan), Amar (Kushal Tandon) and Riddhi (Aditi Arya). Things get ugly and scary when Suhani realizes that she is about to lose the man of her dreams Amar to her flat-mate Riddhi. Suhani will do anything to make it right, even if it is installing an app off the deep web that grants your darkest wishes. Will she succeed or get trapped in her own wrong doing? The film unravels that through its course.

Sharing her thoughts, actor Hina Khan said, “It was a nail-biting script and I knew I wanted to play the character from the word go. The script had me hooked from start to finish and in order for me to make full justice to the role, I will have to tune into a different mind space to get under the skin of this character. Looking forward to working with a fantastic cast as well as ZEE5 and while I am excited, I am also nervous.”

Looking forward to this project, Kushal Tandon said, “Tech horror is an extremely interesting genre and I am thankful that I got a chance to work with ZEE5 on this film. We have had extensive narration sessions and that has made me question on how technology can get the better of us! The script is well layered and every character has demons which will come alive as the film progresses.”

The film just went on floors and is set in uptown Mumbai.

Deepika Padukone, who has been a leading personality for global cinema and the cause of mental health, will receive the World Economic Forum's prestigious 26th Annual Crystal Award for her extraordinary contribution towards the cause of mental health.

Deepika Padukone jets off to Switzerland to attend the World Economic Forum 2020 being held in Davos where she will be honored with the prestigious Crystal awards in the presence of some of the leading personalities from across the world from all walks of life. Deepika Padukone is an internationally acclaimed actor, fashion icon and mental health ambassador from India. The actress will be representing India and would be taking to the podium along with the President of the United States, Donald Trump and many other world-class speakers.

To announce the same, WEF took to the forum and announced earlier that they are delighted to celebrate the leadership of artist Theaster Gates for his leadership in creating sustainable communities, Jin Xing for her leadership in shaping inclusive cultural norms, Deepika Padukone, for her leadership in raising mental health awareness and Lynette Wallworth, for her leadership in creating inclusive narratives.

Deepika has been always vocal about mental health and to further spread awareness about the cause, the actress has been taking various steps to reach out to the maximum people. She also started the "Live Love Laugh" foundation.

On the work front, she recently starred in and co-produced Chhapaak which is a story about acid attack survivour. The actress will be next seen in '83 alongside Ranveer Singh. Also, soon will start shooting for Shakun Batra’s directorial.

The actress, who received mixed reactions from netizens over her JNU visit ahead of Chhapaak release, is receiving backlash over a promotional video she filmed with TikTok influencer. In the video, she throws a challenge to recreate three of her looks, including that of Malti in Chhapaak. In the film, she plays the role of an acid attack surviour.

Deepika Padukone lists her three favourite looks from her films – Om Shanti Om, Piku and Chhapaak. In the video, the artist creates all three looks. “I want to challenge Faby with three of my most favourite looks,” Deepika tells the makeup artist.

Someone posted the video on Twitter and the netizens slammed Deepika Padukone for calling Malti’s acid attacked face as one of her favourite makeup looks.

The problem with Deepika Padukone endorsing a makeup challenge on Chhapak is that she treated it as one of her “looks” and dismissed the entire trauma behind it. She proved that it was merely makeup for her & she clearly doesn’t understand the depth of what survivors go through.

Directed by Meghna Gulzar, Chhapaak has been co-produced by Deepika Padukone which released on January 10, 2020. The film was based on the real life story of acid attack survivor, Laxmi Agarwal.

Shubh Mangal Zyada Saavdhan: Ayushmann Khurrana to feature in recreation of Anil Kapoor - Amrita Singh's 'Yaar Bina Chain' January 19, 2020 at 05:13PM

After three successful films in a year, Ayushmann Khurrana is ready to kickstart 2020 with Shubh Mangal Zyada Saavdhan. The actor will essay the role of a gay man with Jitendra Kumar as his love interest. It's already been revealed that Honey Singh's 'Gabru' will be recreated in the film.

Now, an 80s classic is making its way to the film. Ayushman Khurrana will feature in the recreation of Anil Kapoor - Amrita Singh's 'Yaar Bina Chain' which was originally composed by Bappi Lahiri. It will have Ayushmann and Jitendra grooving to the beats. Director Hitesh Kewalya said that the song is quintessential 80s number and fits perfectly with their film's vibe. The song has been co-created by Tanishq Bagchi and Vayu. The director said that Ayushmann loved the version as it captures the essence of the story. Bappi Lahiri's voice has been retained. The song, choreographed by Vijay Ganguly, will be shot next month.

Shubh Mangal Zyada Saavdhan stars Neena Gupta, Gajraj Rao, Maanvi Gagroo, Pankhuri Awasthy among others. Directed by Hitesh Kewalya and jointly produced by Bhushan Kumar’s T-Series and Aanand L Rai’s Colour Yellow Productions, the film has got a new release date. The film will hit the theatres on February 21, 2020.

Shahid Kapoor and Ishaan Khattar's maternal grandmother Khadija Azeem, Neelima Azeem's mother, passed away recently. Ishaan, who was close to her, penned a heartfelt tribute.

Remembering his grandmother, Ishaan wrote, "Ammi, you instilled wit, fire, knowledge, perseverance, purpose and meaning in all of us. Freedom fighter, writer, translator, editor, sister, wife, mother, aunt, grandmother, friend, confidant - you were so many things and more. They don’t make them like you anymore. Blessed to have had you in my life. I’ll carry a small piece of your vast presence with me always. You’ll never be forgotten by anybody whose life you deeply impacted."

Ishaan also shared photographs of his late grandmother. "In the first picture on the left, my Nani - Khadija Azeem - with her sister and my grand aunt, Shahida ammi. Here she is beaming proudly at her elder grandson’s wedding reception. The second picture is her with her two children, my Mamoo and my mother. And the third is her with her favourite aunt and mom," he wrote.

बॉलीवु़ड डेस्क. शनिवार की दोपहर शबाना आजमी की कार का एक्सीडेंट हुआ था। तेज रफ्तार से आ रहे ट्रक से उनकी कार टकरा गई थी। तब जावेद अख्तर दूसरी कार में सवार थे। शबाना आजमी खुद बैक सीट में सेफ्टी बेल्ट लगा लेटी हुई थीं। वह इसलिए कि शुक्रवार की रात तक मुंबई में उनके यहां जावेद अख्तर के जन्मदिन की पार्टी चल रही थी। उसके चलते वे देर रात तक जगी हुई थीं। रंगमंच के दिग्गज अभिनेता और उनके फैमिली फ्रेंड अतुल तिवारी ने दैनिक भास्कर से खास बातचीत में यह सब जाहिर किया।

उन्होंने कहा, ‘शबाना जी बिलकुल ठीक हैं। संयोग अच्छा था कि हादसे वाले दिन वे कार की पिछली सीट पर सो रही थीं। सीट बेल्ट भी लगी हुई थी। ड्राईवर को भी कुछ नहीं हुआ, क्योंकि उसके सेफ्टी बैलून वगैरह खुल गए। शबाना जी ने भी बैक सीट पर होते हुए भी सीट बेल्ट लगाई हुई थी। उसके चलते ज्यादा चोट नहीं आई। अगर बेल्ट नहीं लगी हुई होती तो यकीनन ज्यादा चोटें आ सकती थीं। थोड़ी सी चोटें जरूर हैं, पर बाकी सब ठीक है। सीटी स्कैन कोकिलाबेन में भी हो गई है। वे खतरे से बाहर हैं। बात वात भी कर रही हैं। ’

उन्होंने बताया कि, जावेद साहब सेम गाड़ी में नहीं थे। वे दूसरी गाड़ी में थे। सब मुंबई से खंडाला जा रहे थे। वीकेंड मनाने के लिए। पूरा परिवार तो नहीं, जावेद साहब के कुछ मित्र साथ में थे। शबाना जी बहुत थकी हुई थीं। उन्होंने कहा कि वे बीच वाली गाड़ी में सो जाती हैं। दो तीन दिनों की पार्टी की थकान उन पर हावी थी। ड्राईवर की भी शायद आंख वांख लग गई होगी, जिसकी वजह से गलती हुई और हादसा हुआ। हालांकि अब उससे कैसे गलती हुई, वह तो ड्राईवर ही बता सकता है।

बाकी कोकिलाबेन में अभी डॉक्टर्स ने उन्हें 48 घंटे के लिए अंडर ऑब्जर्वेशन रखा हुआ है। उसके बाद ही पता चल सकेगा कि वे कितने दिन हॉस्पिटलाइज रहने वाली हैं।

कैंसर पेशेंट भी था शामिल: शिकारा की शूटिंग में कैंसर पीड़ित कश्मीरी पंडित बंशीलाल भी था।लेकिन उन्होंने कैंसर होने की बात नहीं बताई थी। अब बंशीलाल जीवित नहीं हैं, लेकिन शूटिंग पर जब उन्हें खाने के लिए पूछा जाता था तो वे भूख नहीं है कहकर मना कर देते थे। जबकि हकीकत ये थी के वे खाना खा ही नहीं सकते थे, लेकिन बावजूद इसके वे काम करते रहे। उनकी इच्छा थी कि फिल्म में कश्मीरी पंडितों पर गुजरी हर बात सामने आ सके।

"Shabana Is Doing Fine," Says Javed Akhtar January 18, 2020 at 09:08PM

A day after the ghastly road accident which left her automobile smashed, Shabana Azmi was doing fine at the Kokilaben Dhirubhai Ambani hospital in Mumbai. On Sunday all essential medical tests were done on the injured actress and there were no seeming complications.

When I asked  Javed Akhtar about his better half's health on Sunday morning, he replied, “Don’t worry. She is in the ICU but all the scan reports are positive. It seems there’s no serious harm done.”

In the meanwhile, the police have filed an FIR against the driver of Shabana Azmi’s vehicle for rash driving.

A source very close to the Azmi’s and Akhtar’s said, “Just a few days earlier we were all celebrating  Javed Saab’s 75th birthday. Now, this catastrophe has stuck. Though it could have been much worse."

According to sources, Shabana had a providential escape from death. The intensity of the hit could have hurled her out of the speeding vehicle. Luckily that didn’t happen. But it would take her more than a month to recover.
