On December 12, 2008, the nation saw Anushka Sharma for the first time on the celluloid with Aditya Chopra's third directorial, Rab Ne Bana Di Jodi. She played the role of a spunky and feisty Punjabi girl, Taani, whose world comes crashing as her fiancée passes away and so does her father. But before taking his last breath, he marries her off to Surinder Sahni, his former student.
Sahni, madly in love with his wife and hell-bent on making her fall in love with him, undergoes a major change in his personality to woo the lady he has sworn to live and die with. Sharma opted for a rather tricky and immensely questionable role for her debut and displayed a knack for confidence and charm right with her debut. A star was discovered.
Today, as the actress completes 11 years in the industry, she's a massive star, a successful producer, a celebrity wife, and a sport who has inculcated the art of self-deprecation. She has all the things one needs to be a star and a survivor in Bollywood. We shall elaborate:
1. The Bold Choices
Rab Ne Bana Di Jodi may have led to the nation discovering a star, it was Band Baaja Baaraat and the films after that made her a star. Despite the sameness in the characters she was offered in the initial days of her career, Sharma infused them with enigma and energy.
And the brave choices continued after the success of this Maneesh Sharma directorial. Opting for roles that transcended the banalities of box-office collections and weekend numbers, she dove straight into the world of Vishal Bhardwaj and Anurag Kashyap with their ambitious and oddball pieces of work- Matru Ki Bijlee Ka Mandola and Bombay Velvet. Both her characters were poles apart in the way they were crafted and performed.
And despite the failure of the two films, Sharma established her prowess and made it clear she has the audacity to attempt what seems experimental for the skewed mindsets of the trade.
Last year, she starred in a film called Sui Dhaaga - Made In India, a simple story set in the small town of Chanderi, a film about hope and aspirations. Sharma's was a character she never explored before. It was a role that had to connect with the common man, it was a preparation that had to go beyond removing pancake and wearing traditional attires. It was something that had to come from within. And collaborating fantastically with Varun Dhawan, she showed there's hardly any role she cannot pull off.
We continue to wait for what she does next as an actor!
2. The Brave Producer
Anushka Sharma became one of the first actors from her contemporaries to turn producer. And right from her first film, which she also acted in, she showed she's a woman defined by fearlessness. NH10 was a dark, edgy, gory piece of work that allowed the actress to take centre-stage and do everything that Hindi film heroes have been known for. She fought, she bled, and she overpowered the villains. She showed whatever a man could do, a woman could pull off with as ease and heroism.
Unlike most of the other filmmakers who believe in cashing-in the glory of their previous success or attempting the same genre of masala potboilers, Sharma made a sweet love story titled Phillauri. It was a love story of a woman who's separated from her beloved and becomes a ghost after committing suicide. The finale of the film may have received mixed reactions, but there lay the film's biggest strength and the most endearing quality.
One of my personal favourite films of 2018 was the psychological thriller, Pari. Maybe it was marketed incorrectly. It was promoted as a horror film and the promos gave an indication to the same, but it was much more than thrills and chills, it was an unheard narrative about a mysterious woman. Sharma poured all her heart to create a role that nobody in her contemporaries attempted.
More than creating horror out of physical transformation and prosthetic, she allowed hooking the audience with her psyche and emotional turmoil. And by the time the film ended, she still remained a mystery.
3. The Sport
The advent of social media has allowed everyone to have an opinion and be judgemental about everything under the sun. And Sharma has also faced a lot of it on social media. This has been happening for half-a-decade now, but she has always taken it by her stride and on her chin. The Sui Dhaaga memes took the Internet by a storm, but the actress laughed with them, going on to share some of her favourites on her social media accounts. She has always been a sport, even when she has been criticised for Virat Kohli's dismal performance.
We don't have too many names in the industry who can tackle so many opinions with a smile. And this is what makes the actress stand out. Radhe vs Laxmmi Bomb: Salman Khan opens up about clashing with Akshay Kumar on Eid 2020 December 12, 2019 at 08:55AM
Salman Khan and Akshay Kumar will be clashing on Eid 2020 with their respective films. Akshay, who is working on Laxmmi Bomb, will be facing off Salman's action starrer Radhe - Your Most Wanted Bhai. While both films are highly anticipated films, Salman Khan says that there is space for more films on Eid.
Salman recently said that his films have released on Republic Day, Christmas, Diwali, Ramadan, and Eid. So, he doesn't claim that Eid is his when it comes to film releases. He said that the audience decides which film to spend on. If they like the film, they'll watch it otherwise they won't. He said that it doesn't matter if it's a festive release or not.
Salman further said that they were working in Radhe when someone suggested Prabhu Dheva's name. After Dabangg 3 release, he was to go on two month holiday. But, when Salman approached him, he agreed to do it. The script was halfway ready and he was working on Inshallah. He claimed he didn't remember the name of the film but hopes Radhe releases on Eid.
Radhe will be the third collaboration between Salman Khan and Prabhu Dheva after Wanted and Dabangg 3. Radhe is produced by Sohail Khan & Reel Life Production Pvt. Limited under the banner of Salman Khan Films.
The film is reportedly the remake of the Korean movie, The Outlaws which released in 2017. It was directed by Kang Yoon-sung and starred Ma Dong-Seok and Yoon Kye-Sang.

The Dabangg franchise continues to grow. With Dabangg 3 only a few days away, Salman Khan is excited to return as Chulbul Pandey in the third installment. The actor has been promoting the film in full swing.

One-film-old Janhvi Kapoor says working in films can become monotonous after a certain point of time. Janhvi will next be seen in the Netflix original film, Ghost Stories, a horror anthology featuring four stories directed by Anurag Kashyap, Dibakar Banerjee, Zoya Akhtar, and Karan Johar. She features in Zoya's segment and says that she had an enjoyable experience working in the project.
"I have recently done a short film for Netflix and I had a very enjoyable experience working on it. It feels good to work in a short film because mostly we do a film shoot over 50 to 60 days. It becomes very monotonous after a certain point. In a short film, however, you go in with a lot of energy and the shoot is over quickly, without distractions. In feature films, most of the time you have to juggle between two to three shoots unlike a short film where you get the chance to finish shooting at one," noted Janhvi, at a special screening of a short film named Sepia along with the film's director Archit Kumar.
In the Zoya Akhtar segment of Ghost Stories, Janhvi features alongside Vijay Varma and Raghubir Yadav. The quartet that directs Ghost Stories has collaborated twice before -- on Bombay Talkies (2013) and Lust Stories (2018).
On the Bollywood front, Janhvi will be seen Sharan Sharma's Gunjan Saxena: The Kargil Girl, Hardik Mehta's Roohi Afza and Collin D'Cunha's Dostana 2 next year.
Asked how she looks forward to 2020, she said: "I am very excited and I am going to visit temples every day to seek blessings of God."
The gossip grapevine linked her name with Shahid Kapoor's brother Ishaan Khatter while the two young actors were working in "Dhadak". Asked if she plans to have a romantic gateway with anyone for New Year's Eve, she said with a laugh: "Why romantic? With whom I should go? There should be someone to have romance, right?"
Ghost Stories is co-produced by Ronnie Screwvala and Ashi Dua, and is scheduled to release on Netflix on January 1, 2020.

Filmmaker Mahesh Bhatt says he is more interested in the longevity of his films than by their debut grosses. Mahesh on Wednesday took to Twitter, where he shared a poster of his film Zakhm, which was released 21 years.

Zakhm is considered of Bhatt's finest directorial efforts and is said to bear autobiographical shades. The film won Ajay Devgn a National Award as Best actor, and also featured Pooja Bhatt, Sonali Bendre, Nagarjuna, and Kunal Kemmu as a child artist. The film won the Nargis Dutt Award for Best Feature Film on National Integration.
Bhatt on Wednesday announced that he is venturing into the digital space with a web-series based on the relationship of a struggling filmmaker and a top actress of the seventies.

Filmmaker Karan Johar says he is going through a mid-life crisis, and that's why he has added colour and bling to his personal wardrobe. "Manish Malhotra has a very specific sense of his own. He's very flashy and flamboyant as a designer but very sober when it comes to his personal sense. I think I'm going through a mid-life crisis so I'm wearing a lot of colour and bling. So, in our own ways we're combating the age and stage we are at," Karan said.
Karan opened up about his personal style when he appeared on chat show Not Just Supper Stars along with fashion designer Manish Malhotra. The show is aired in India on Zee Cafe. The filmmaker then looked at Manish, and joked: "My mid-life crisis is in my head, yours is possibly in the bed."
Asked if he enjoys stalking on social media, Karan said: "All the time. I have no problem being on it. I love stalking and it's my midnight activity. When I'm lying in bed and right before I sleep, I'm at my stalking optimum best."
Karan also opened up about his plan to lose weight.
"I've been on some eight thousand diets and that's ruined my metabolism. Also, I've been one of those silent eaters -- those who don't eat in front of others but eat silently at night. I'm that kind of an eater but Manish starts getting into a bad mood, if you don't feed him," the filmmaker said.

Actor Ranveer Singh is in negotiations to play the role of the iconic Indian superhero Nagraj in a big-screen adaptation of the comic-book series, Manoj Gupta, president of publisher Raj Comics, said on Wednesday. The film will be produced by filmmaker Karan Johar, Gupta added.
"We are in talks with Ranveer Singh and Karan Johar for a live-action silver-screen adaptation of Nagraj. While nothing is inked so far, things are looking positive," Gupta told PTI.
Nagraj, which literally means 'Snake King', was created in the late 1980s by Sanjay Gupta and published by Raj Comics. The first story on the fictional superhero was penned by Prashuram Sharma and illustrations were done by Pratap Mullik. Later, it was drawn by Sanjay Ashtputre, Chandu and Anupam Sinha.
"When we created Nagraj we never imagined that it would attract such a wide fan following across India and we all are happy that finally, a Nagraj movie is taking shape," Gupta added.
A rich blend of mythology, fantasy, magic and science fiction, the story of Nagraj has gone on to earn a cult following over the years, with many fans believing that the comics have developed a mythology of their own, which is unique to the popular Indian beliefs about snakes.
Gupta said though the project is in initial stages of development, they are hoping for a 2022 release."Everyone is extremely enthusiastic about the idea of making a Nagraj feature film. While other superhero films have been made in Bollywood before, this will be the first live-action adaptation of an Indian comic-book superhero," he added.
Gupta previously had told PTI in September this year that the team is working towards adapting their comic-book characters for various mediums.
"We are in talks to create a Banke Lal animated show for kids with a leading animation studio and a high-end 3D Nagraj animated film. We are also discussing live-action web-series with various producers," the director said.

Bollywood star Priyanka Chopra has reiterated that she is not pro-war, clearing the air on an incident where a Pakistani woman had accused the actor of supporting the nuclear war between India and Pakistan.
Priyanka was severely criticised by Pakistani people on social media for a tweet following India's February airstrike in the Balakot area of Pakistan. She had tweeted, "Jai Hind #IndianArmedForces". Later, at an event in the US, the former Miss World and Hollywood headliner was accused of being a hypocrite and encouraging nuclear war against Pakistan by a Pakistani woman named Ayesha Malik.
In an interview with Daily Beast, Priyanka was asked about the incident, which she said was unfortunate as she has always maintained her anti-war stance. "A couple of things. I feel like this is not an opportune moment to talk about it. Second of all, it was unfortunate what happened, and third of all, I never have, never was, and never will be pro-war and that is in my statements itself.
"My work for all of these years is a testament to that, and I don't feel I need to keep regurgitating it," the 37-year-old actor said. Pakistan had also tried to get Priyanka removed as UN Goodwill Ambassador with its Minister for Human Rights, Shireen M Mazari, sending a letter to UNICEF and accusing the actor of supporting violations by the Modi government of international conventions and UNSC resolutions on Kashmir.
The actor believes being an influential person is an extremely important power but it also comes with a lot of responsibility.
"It doesn't have the responsibility that heads of states might have, because obviously we are not lawmakers or we cannot change those things, but we can influence, and I have always hoped to be able to use my influence in terms of philanthropy, and creativity in the arts, and to be able to, if I have opinions as a citizen, be able to speak about my opinions, and be able to give people perspective that they might not have seen because of my travels," she added.

Jeethu Joseph talks about directing Rishi Kapoor in his upcoming film, The Body December 12, 2019 at 07:13AM

Filmmaker Jeethu Joseph, who is making his Bollywood debut with The Body featuring Rishi Kapoor and Emraan Hashmi, says the veteran actor's legacy never came in the way of making the thriller. Jeethu has helmed several critically acclaimed Malayalam films, including Memories and Drishyam, which was remade across five languages, including Hindi.
"Rishi sir's legacy never came in between making the film. But his experience helped a lot. To work with him is a blessing. In the beginning, I was slightly afraid because I was working with a legend. But he was cool and cooperative," Jeethu told PTI.
The director said Kapoor, 67, is a lot like Malayalam superstar Mohanlal when it comes to following a director's vision. "He is a director's actor. I felt like I'm working with Mohanlal. He's also a director's actor. Rishi sir usually doesn't work after 8 or 9 PM, but most of the scenes were at night, so there were days he stayed till 1 AM and told me he's doing it only for me. It was a great experience," he added.
Though The Body marks Kapoor's first collaboration with the filmmaker, the actor was on Jeethu's mind even when the idea of the Hindi remake of Drishyam was taking shape. "In the beginning stages of making the Hindi version of 'Drishyam', I suggested Rishi sir's name because I thought this character perfectly suits him, age-wise and other factors. I believed he can do justice to that character.
"But in films, we have to consider other factors such as the economics behind it. The producers considered that factor and went to Ajay Devgn who also did a great job." The Body is the Hindi remake of the Spanish film of the same name.
While most of the work of the film was completed last year, the post-production took a halt when Kapoor flew to the US for his cancer treatment.
What resulted was the post-production of The Body and Jeethu's other Tamil directorial Thambi clashing, with both films releasing in December. Jeethu says managing two big releases at the same time was stressful. "It's not that good because in filmmaking post-production is an important factor, so it was very stressful. But it happened accidentally because The Body was shot last year and was supposed to release last year but we had some patchwork shoot and Rishi sir had to go for the treatment.
"My well-wishers say that I'm having one Hindi and Tamil release in a single month but I wasn't enjoying. I hope it won't happen again in my life because it will affect the quality. The fortunate bit was, most of the post-production of The Body was over last year, and only small changes were there. But looking over two films at the same time is not a good thing," he added. The Body is scheduled to release on December 13

In Bollywood parlance, you have broken into the big league when you have bagged a Karan Johar project. So, one can imagine actor Avinash Tiwary's delight at having earned a place in the filmmaker's upcoming anthology, Ghost Stories.
"I never thought Karan Johar will cast me. As an outsider, this was a perception fed to me. So, finally, when the offer came my way, it validated my faith in my craft," says Tiwary, who — after some small but memorable roles in films — had critics sit up and take notice of him in Laila Majnu. "After [the debacle of] Laila Majnu, I had no expectations. I had waited two-and-a-half years for the film's release, but it was wiped out in a week's time. I was disappointed, but the film got a new lease of life post its release on an OTT platform," recounts Tiwary.
If Pakistani actor Mahira Khan took to Twitter to praise his performance, closer home, his work caught the attention of actor-producer Anushka Sharma. "For four months after the film's release, I had no offers coming my way. Then Anushka Sharma's production house approached me for Bulbul." Tiwary also has another promising project in The Girl On The Train with Parineeti Chopra.
On his part, the actor is most upbeat about Ghost Stories. "Karan Johar constantly seeks talent; he has his ear to the ground. He had not watched Laila Majnu, but he had heard of me. So when this project came to him, he sought me out. Working with him has done wonders to my self-confidence. Now, I feel as if I deserved this [validation] for long."

It is not easy to earn a nod from Kajol. Or so Renuka Shahane had heard, before she took the script of Tribhanga to her. A round of narration later, the actor-director knew she had found the protagonist of her women-led story that spans across three generations of a family. "She is choosy, but one must do roles that speak to their heart," smiles the director, days after wrapping up the shoot of the Netflix movie.

If the Ajay Devgn-backed drama — featuring Tanvi Azmi and Mithila Palkar — marks Kajol's debut in digital entertainment, it also sees Shahane wield the directorial baton after a decade. Having worked closely with Kajol over the past few months, she says that she could not have asked for a better artiste to breathe life into her story. "During the shoot, she told me, 'You have to direct me. If I am not doing something properly, please tell me.' All directors would want to have such freedom."

Unlike directors who may be threatened by Kajol's opinionated nature, Shahane lauds the actor for her no-nonsense attitude. "Kajol wants to have clarity before she begins the shoot. This way, anything that happens on the set does not come as a surprise. And yet, once the camera was switched on, she would weave her magic. Kajol has been brave in accepting a film like Tribhanga. She's one of those few stars who are pushing the boundaries. She's a [gifted] woman who has been under-utilised in our films." Now that Tribhanga is behind her, will we see Shahane on the big screen? "I am open to offers, but nothing that will keep me away from home for long."

Attribute it to beginner's luck or her perfect comic timing, but Richa Chadha's act on the stand-up comedy special, One Mic Stand, was widely appreciated. The actor, who struck gold with her set on how Indian aunts nag young girls to get married, has been approached by several comedy venues and corporate houses to perform for them.
"I am flattered to see the kind messages coming my way. I am ecstatic that the show fared so well," beams Chadha, who spent months working on her material before taking to the stage. One can hardly tell by her confident act in front of the live audience, but she admits that she was a ball of nervous energy ahead of her maiden attempt. "Frankly, I was scared when I went on stage. I had written my set, and knew my material, but to perform it live was another ball game."
So will she give her nod to the requests for stand-up acts coming her way? "I want to try more of it and will do so soon when time permits," says the actor, adding that at the moment, she is busy shooting for a black comedy.

जब बिना एडवांस मेकअप तक कराने को तैयार नहीं हुए रजनीकांत, प्रोड्यूसर ने कर दिया था फिल्म से बाहर December 12, 2019 at 07:00AM
बॉलीवुड डेस्क. सिनेमाजगत में रजनीकांत के नाम से मशहूर शिवाजी राव गायकवाड़ 69 साल के हो गए हैं। 12 दिसंबर 1950 को बैंगलोर (अब बेंगलुरु), कर्नाटक में जन्मे रजनीकांत अब तक 160 से ज्यादा फिल्मों में काम कर चुके हैं। उन्हें देश ही नहीं दुनियाभर में सुपरस्टार के तौर पर जाना जाता है। लेकिन 70 के दशक में जब वे सुपरस्टार नहीं बने थे। तब साइनिंग अमाउंट का कुछ हिस्सा एडवांस में मांगने पर एक प्रोड्यूसर ने उन्हें ताना मारकर फिल्म से निकाल दिया था। इस बात का खुलासा खुद रजनीकांत ने अपनी अपकमिंग फिल्म 'दरबार' के ऑडियो लॉन्च इवेंट में किया था।
रजनीकांत के मुताबिक, यह घटना 1977 में तब हुई, जब उनकी तमिल फिल्म '6 वयाथिनिले' की रिलीज को करीब एक सप्ताह ही हुआ था। वे कहते हैं, "उस समय तक मैंने कुछ ही फिल्मों में काम किया था। लेकिन परताई ('6 वयाथिनिले' में रजनी का किरदार) ने मुझे तमिलनाडु के कोने-कोने में मशहूर कर दिया।"
राजनी आगे बताते हैं, "इसी दौरान एक प्रोड्यूसर ने मुझे एक अच्छा कैरेक्टर रोल ऑफर किया, जिसमें कोई दूसरा एक्टर लीड रोल कर रहा था। मेरे पास डेट्स थीं। इसलिए मैंने मेहनताने पर डिस्कशन किया। मैंने 10 हजार रुपए से मोल-भाव शुरू किया और 6 हजार रुपए पर बात बन गई। उस वक्त टोकन मनी के रूप में 100 या 200 रुपए एडवांस में देने का रिवाज था। मैंने हजार रुपए का एडवांस मांगा, जिसपर प्रोड्यूसर ने कहा कि उसके पास फिलहाल पैसे नहीं है। अगले दिन तब एडवांस मिल जाएगा, जब उसका प्रोडक्शन मैनेजर एग्रीमेंट की औपचारिकता पूरी करने आएगा।"
जब मैनेजर आया तो वह इस बात से अनजान था कि उसे रजनीकांत को भुगतान करना है। वह बगल के टेलीफोन बूथ पर गया और प्रोड्यूसर को फोन किया, जिसने आश्वासन दिया कि वह अगले दिन शूट लोकेशन पर मेकअप से पहले एडवांस दे देगा। लेकिन रजनी को इस बात पर ऐतराज था।
...और प्रोड्यूसर ने फिल्म से निकाल दिया
वे कहते हैं, "अगले दिन प्रोडक्शन मैनेजर ने मुझसे कहा कि हीरो आ चुका है और उसने मेरे मेकअप के लिए कहा है। मैंने इनकार कर दिया। कुछ देर बार एक व्हाइट कलर की एम्बेसडर एवीएम स्टूडियो (जहां फिल्म की शूटिंग चल रही थी) के बाहर आकर रुकी और प्रोड्यूसर उससे बाहर आया। उसने कहा- क्या तुम अपने आपको हीरो समझते हो, जो बिना एडवांस के काम नहीं कर सकते। तुम्हारे लिए फिल्म में कोई रोल नहीं है, तुम जा सकते हो।" जब रजनी ने प्रोड्यूसर से कहा कि क्या उसकी कार उन्हें घर तक छोड़ सकती है तो उसने इनकार कर दिया। इसके बाद वे बिना पैसे के घर रवाना हो गए थे।
घटना से हैरान थे रजनीकांत
रजनीकांत के मुताबिक, इस घटना के बाद वे हैरान थे। जब वे एवीएम स्टूडियो से बाहर निकले तो उनके साथ अजीब बात हुई। वे कहते हैं, "बसों में और सड़कों पर लोग मुझे देखते ही चिल्लाने लगते थे- ए परताई। इत्थु एप्दी इरुक्कू।" रजनी के मुताबिक 'इत्थु एप्दी इरुक्कू' वह कैचफ्रेज था, जो फिल्म '16 वयाथिनिले' में उनके किरदार द्वारा बोला गया था।
उनके मुताबिक, एवीएम स्टूडियो की ओर जाने वाली सड़क इसी डायलॉग के साथ वाले पोस्टर्स से अटी पड़ी थी। बकौल रजनी, "मुझे लगा कि लोग मेरी स्थिति का मजाक उड़ा रहे हैं। मेरे दिमाग में यह नहीं आया कि वे मेरा डायलॉग दोहरा रहे हैं। लेकिन उस दिन मैंने तय कर लिया कि एक दिन अगर एवीएम स्टूडियो की इस सड़क पर अपनी विदेशी कार में बैठकर न गुजरा तो मेरा नाम रजनीकांत नहीं है।" करीब ढाई साल बाद रजनी ने एवीएम स्टूडियो के मालिक की इटेलियन मेड फिएट कार खरीदी, जिसके लिए 4.25 लाख रुपए चुकाए थे।

44 साल के करियर में रजनीकांत ने कभी नहीं किया ब्रांड प्रमोशन, दो करोड़ से ज्यादा का ऑफर भी ठुकरा दिया था December 12, 2019 at 07:00AM
बॉलीवुड डेस्क. 69 साल के हो चुके रजनीकांत ने 1975 में आई तमिल फिल्म 'अपूर्वा रागंगल' में छोटे से रोल से फिल्मों में एंट्री ली थी। वे अब तक 160 से ज्यादा फिल्मों में काम कर चुके हैं। लेकिन 44 साल के फिल्मी करियर में कभी उन्होंने किसी ब्रांड को एंडोर्स नहीं किया। तीन साल पहले इसके पीछे की कुछ वजह सामने आई थीं।
अंडरवियर- शू ब्रांड के प्रमोशन के लिए तैयार नहीं
नॉर्थ इंडिया बेस्ड ऐड एजेंसी सेपिएन्ट नित्रो के स्ट्रेटेजिक हेड रोहिताश श्रीवास्तव ने कहा था, 'वे अंडरवियर या शू ब्रांड के प्रमोशन के लिए तैयार नहीं हैं। वे हायर लेवल के लिए बने हैं। उनके फैन्स उनसे यह उम्मीद नहीं रखते हैं कि वे उन्हें बताएं कि क्या कंज्यूम करना है।' रिपोर्ट्स के मुताबिक, जब एक कोला ब्रांड ने उन्हें 2 करोड़ रुपए से ज्यादा के ऑफर के साथ अप्रोच किया था तो उन्होंने कंपनी के एग्जिक्यूटिव से मिलने तक से इनकार कर दिया था।
फैन्स की नजर में भगवान, इसलिए एंडोर्समेंट से दूर
एक ऐड फिल्म्स और टैलेंट मैनेजमेंट कंपनी के सीनियर एग्जिक्यूटिव थेरॉन कारमेन ने एक बातचीत में कहा था कि रजनीकांत इसलिए किसी ब्रांड को एंडोर्स नहीं करते, क्योंकि उन्हें फैन्स के बीच भगवान की तरह माना जाता है। वे कहते हैं-क्या कभी आपने भगवान को कोक बेचते देखा है? यह एक तरह से उनकी वफादारी सुनिश्चित करता है।
यह एंडोर्समेंट वर्ल्ड की एक फ्लिपसाइड भी है। जब भी किसी प्रोडक्ट में कोई गड़बड़ी निकलती है तो सेलिब्रिटीज को निशाने पर लिया जाता है। यह कोई नहीं समझना चाहता कि किसी ब्रांड ने प्रमोशन में जो वादा किया है, उसकी डिलीवरी की क्षमता पर सेलेब्रिटीज का कोई नियंत्रण नहीं होता। शायद एक वजह यह भी है कि रजनी एंडोर्समेंट से हमेशा दूर रहते हैं।

85 घंटे की 'द क्योर फॉर इंसोमनिया' है इतिहास की सबसे लंबी फिल्म, गिनीज बुक में दर्ज है नाम December 12, 2019 at 06:00AM
हॉलीवुड डेस्क. आजकल की फिल्में जहां दो से ढाई घंटे में खत्म हो जाती हैं, वहीं साल 1987 में आई फिल्म 'द क्योर फॉर इंसोमनिया' को 85 घंटे के रनिंग टाइम के चलते दुनिया की सबसे लंबी फिल्म माना जाता है। कवि एलडी ग्रोबन की कविताओं से भरी इस फिल्म का रनिंग टाइम 5220 मिनट है, जिसमें वे अपनी कविताएं पढ़ रहे हैं। डायरेक्टर जॉन हैनरी टिमिस चतुर्थ की इसी खासियत के कारण इस फिल्म का नाम गिनीज बुक ऑफ वर्ल्ड रिकॉर्ड्स में भी दर्ज है।
31 जनवरी 1987 को रिलीज हुई 'द क्योर फॉर इंसोमनिया' शिकागो स्थित द स्कूल में चलाया गया। यह फिल्म इतनी बड़ी थी कि लगातार चलने के बाद भी इसका अंत अगले रिलीज के अगले माह यानी 3 फरवरी को पूरा हुआ। गौरतलब है कि फिल्म में किसी भी तरह का कोई स्टोरी प्लॉट नहीं है, 85 घंटे के इस सिनेमा में कवि एलडी ग्रोबन अपनी करीब पांच हजार पन्नों की कविताओं का पाठ करते हैं। जबकि बाकी फिल्म में कहीं कहीं हैवी मैटल म्यूजिक और पोर्नोग्राफी दिखाई गई है।
बताया जाता है कि फिल्म को खासतौर पर नींद ना आने की परेशानियों से जूझ रहे लोगों के लिए बनाया गया था। इसी खूबी के कारण 'द क्योर फॉर इंसोमनिया' को फिल्म के साथ साथ एक प्रयोग भी माना जाता है। गौरतलब है कि फिल्म को कभी भी डीवीडी या किसी भी तरह के होम फॉर्मेट में रिलीज नहीं किया गया है। यहीं कारण रहा कि फिल्म की ज्यादातर कॉपियां गुम हो चुकी हैं।
गैंग्स ऑफ वसेपुर है बॉलीवुड की सबसे लंबी फिल्म
साल 2012 में आई अनुराग कश्यप की 'गैंग्स ऑफ वसेपुर' को बॉलीवुड की सबसे लंबी फिल्म माना जाता है। फिल्म का कुल रनिंग टाइम 319 मिनट का है यानी करीब 5 घंटे। खबरों के अनुसार 5 घंटे लंबी फिल्म को कोई भी थियेटर चलाने के लिए राजी नहीं था, जो कि फिल्म के दो हिस्से होने का कारण बना। हालांकि तीन पीढ़ियों की कहानी बताती इस फिल्म के दोनों हिस्से बॉक्स ऑफिस पर जमकर धमाल मचाया था।
