Prashant Narayanan disclosed turning down a role in 'Rang De Basanti' due to a disagreement with a production assistant. Despite spending a year on the project and doing script readings, Narayanan felt disrespected during the financial negotiation process. The assistant's rudeness over money led him to decline the offer. Reflecting on the incident, Narayanan expressed regret, suggesting he might have overlooked the behavior had he been familiar with A.R. Rahman's music beforehand. 'Rang De Basanti', released in 2006, attained both critical and commercial success, featuring actors like Kunal Kapoor, Atul Kulkarni, and Alice Patten. Notably, Narayanan joins the ranks of Shahid Kapoor and Arjun Rampal, who have also revealed rejecting roles in the acclaimed political drama.
